Remember how having that toy or blanket close by provided a special feeling - a special kind of security?
Project Linus is about providing children who are facing trauma or critical illness with a special homemade blanket of their own to keep.
Project Linus has provided over 2,000,000 security blankets to children around the country and had over 400 chapters across the country!

The Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset Chapter Project Linus began speaking to groups and collecting blankets in January of 1998. We have collected over 5,000 blankets to
distribute to children in need in the following local facilities:
- Eastern Maine Medical Center (Emergency and Pediatrics)
- Mayo Regional Hospital
- St. Joseph's Hospital
- Pathfinders (a support group for children in bereavement)
- Individual children facing illness or trauma
